Biography

Profile

My name is Annalucia O’Ryan I am 26 years old, my family roots lie amongst Highland traveller's and Norwegian Vikings. As a child I grew up on the west coast of Scotland in Fort William and I have based myself in Glasgow for the last seven years. In 2013 I completed my BA Hons in Contemporary Screen Acting and since graduating I have had the lead role in Nathan Shepka’s independent short film “The Enemy Within” and appeared in Gary J Hewitt’s “The Cleek”.

Further credits include Robert Carlyle’s directorial debut “The Legend of Barney Thompson”, David Izatt’s “The Fairly Flag”, BBC Three’s “Fried” and the Starz production of “Outlander” in addition to appearances in BBC Scotland’s weekly soap “River City”.

I have had appeared in  several theatre productions throughout Glasgow since graduating including lead roles in “Bad Girls: The Musical” and “The Graduettes

I am a versatile and committed actor and I throughly research and prepare for all my roles. I am inspired by the method acting approach made famous by the likes of Robert De Nero, Meryl Streep and Ann Hathaway and I have attended workshops hosted by Sean Higgs and Mel Churcher. I can learn lines quickly and I am willing and able to incorporate feedback and constructive criticism into my work.

I am a very confident horse rider and I have had and been around horses all my life. I am comfortable riding in all equine styles from English, bare back, side saddle to Western.

I am a fully qualified lifeguard and a keen swimmer in both open water and indoor pools. I have taken ballet classes from a young age and competed in Scottish country dancing all over the UK during high school. I studied contemporary and modern dancing at The Space, Dundee for two years and went onto study musical theatre for three.

Growing up in Fort William gave me the taste for the outdoors and I spent many years sailing, skiing, hill walking and rock climbing. I have a full and clean driving licence and have been qualified for seven years.
